Is Anything Too Hard?

“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27)

If God spoke everything before our eyes into existence, is there really anything too hard for Him to accomplish? The Scriptures describe Him as being able to do exceeding, abundantly, about all that we could ask or think. If you are a “child of the King,” then why walk down this path of life being concerned about how hard something is?

After putting on the armor, beloved, God asks us to just stand; having done everything we had to do in order to protect ourselves. Yes, life indeed is a battle, but how do you look at it? Are you looking at it through the veil of flesh; seeking your own way to get through. Or will you make a decision to look at the situation through the eyes of God? In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word WAS GOD! (John 1:1)

Christ won the battle back at Calvary. This is not to say that there will not be any trials and tribulations. God expects His saints to walk into each day KNOWING that the battle has already been won. As long as you stay in His will, will not all things work together for good?

The Bible says that we can do ALL THINGS through Christ. It also says that there’s no condemnation to those who are in CHRIST JESUS! What it boils down to is a relationship with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is in Him that nothing is too hard. It is in Him that we can do things that our imagination cannot begin to conceive. It is in Him that the will of our Father is fulfilled. If you have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you and empowering you, is there anything too hard for you?

Give Thanks

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Have you given thanks unto God today? Did He not wake you up this morning? Did He not make sure you were clothed and fed? Did He not protect you as you traveled from place to place? There are so many things that we ought to thank the Lord for that, upon deep meditation, we cannot begin to even number the blessings.

God created man in His image and likeness in order to give Him praise, and glory, and honor. If you desire to be in the center of God’s will, beloved, you ought to be sure to give Him thanks. Even for the trials and tribulations, God is still a good God indeed. Diamonds—these precious stones must go under great heat and stress to become the beautiful jewels that they are. Is God not able to do the same for His own? God desires us to be His shining jewels in the sight of this world.

Lastly, being in the will of God is only possible through Christ Jesus. The only way we can be IN the will of God is if God is able to identify us with Him. In other words, it is Christ, who sent forth the Holy Ghost to reside in us and fill us with His glory and power, who gives us the true and proper understanding in giving thanks unto God.

The psalmist says, “O give thanks unto the LORD: for he is good and his mercy endureth forever.” If you are not in Christ, God’s mercy is here for you to accept His Son. Time is of the essence. May you be mindful in giving God thanks for EVERYTHING.

Actions Speak Louder than Words

“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matthew 7:20)

It is not about what you say as much as what you do. The old saying, “actions speak louder than words,” clearly holds true through the lens of Scripture. Indeed, beloved, Salvation is not based on our works, but on the great work Jesus Christ did at Calvary. However, it does not end with Salvation, but begins with it. Being a disciple of Jesus, there is much work that must be done.

What is the Great Commission? PREACH & TEACH all nations! What is the Great Commandment? LOVE others as He loves us! It is one thing to simply recite what Christ, Himself, said, but He expects us to OBEY His words. The Bible tells us that we are to be not just HEARERS, but DOERS of His Word.

It is important to know that you CANNOT fool God. When false disciples approached the Lord saying, “didn’t we cast out demons and heal the sick in Your name?” (Matthew 7:22-24) His response is: I KNEW YOU NOT…DEPART FROM ME YE WORKERS OF INIQUITY! Do you really wish to spend your life laboring only to hear those words when your time on this earth ends?

Beloved, realize that all the work in this world that you do for other people will pass on. Only what you do for the Lord, Jesus Christ will last far beyond your time here on earth. Allow your actions to please the Lord and not men. Just as in King Saul’s case: OBEDIENCE is better than sacrifice. Simply trust and obey beloved.

Today's Good Word: Looking for the Hope

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Faith, beloved is not inanimate, but it is alive and very active even today. What we see before us is not so much a definition as is a partial resume of what Faith does. Faith, in this passage of Scripture, is doing two things.

First, it is bringing to our attention the fact that we are to be aware of the promises that God has made in His Word (the Bible). Faith is not about "name it and claim" or "believe it and receive it," but about realizing just how much God, indeed, loves us (Romans 5:8). TRUE faith should turn us TOWARDS CHRIST and not towards worldly and vain riches.

Second, it reassures us that God has already accomplished His plan. Just because we cannot see it doesn't mean that He has not ALREADY taken care of it. What is hope without a promise? What is faith if we do not believe He has already done what He set out to do?

Beloved, our hope lies in Jesus Christ. Our key to unlocking the keys of God's Kingdom rests in a relationship with the Lord. Isaiah 55:3 tells us to, "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found..." Jesus tells us to, "Seek ye FIRST the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and ALL these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). Will you look for Him today?

Pray for Me...

Hey Everyone,

I am writing to ask that you all pray for me. I received an e-mail this morning about an opening for a social studies teacher in a town not too far from me.

I prayed about the matter, I got my resume and cover letter together, and I prayed, asking God's blessing on the papers as I sent them through the fax machine (and e-mail).

I love you all who visit and will continue to pray for each of you. Take care.

P.R.A.Y., Part Two: Reverence

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Too often, the Lord's Prayer is just something we recite. Our prayer life is just another ritual that we must do to please God. In these short few verses, Jesus teaches us a great deal on prayer. This is the second in a series of 4 writings on prayer.

Reverence, beloved, is when we find ourselves in awe and fear of the Lord. Fear here is not refering to us being afraid, but simply to respect God. God is sovereign and commands and demands respect from all creation. Jesus, our Teacher, demonstrates this important principle when He mentions, "hallowed be thy name..." in His Prayer.

When we pray bretheren, we must come before God's throne of grace with not only PURPOSE, but with REVERENCE. Many have developed an idea that God is our servant who should come when we need Him. Let it be known that God is God all by Himself and does not need any of us. That truth in and of itself should cause us to fall prostrate and humble ourselves to Him. It is a privilege and honor to be in the image and likeness of God.

The Scriptures command us to love the LORD with all our heart, soul, and mind. Beloved, if you truly love the Lord, you will show reverence when you pray and when you serve Him. Why should we love the Lord? John 3:16 straitly tells us: For GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, that He GAVE His ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE."

Pray...knowing that Jesus is there to interceed on our behalf. Pray...knowing that through Christ, you can do all things. Pray...knowing that God took the time to create you for His pleasure. Pray...Pray...PRAY!
